Sample management

Every green coffee sample, requested, sent and tracked.

Sample requests, sample stock and dispatch run inside the green market, so buyers cup more coffee and sellers never chase a parcel by email.

Here Roastnet holds samples, sells on between roasters and delivers.
  • Requests in one list

Every sample request has a status, from requested to delivered, visible to the people who need it.

  • Sample stock held for you

Roasters send sample stock to Roastnet once. Each request reserves a sample, so stock is never oversold.

  • Nothing lost when stock runs out

A request with no stock waits and is filled, oldest first, at the next check-in. Sellers are told to restock.

  • Direct when that is simpler

Importers post their own samples and mark them sent.

How it works

From a request to a cupping table.

  1. A buyer requests a sample from a lot on the market.
  2. Held stock: Roastnet reserves a sample and packs it. Direct: the seller is asked to send one.
  3. The sample is marked sent and the buyer follows it.
  4. The buyer cups the coffee and orders from the same lot.

Sample lines can be green or roasted. Each line is checked in by Roastnet before the samples are offered to buyers.

For sellers

Send samples once, sell for months.

Sellers add sample stock after saving a lot: green or roasted lines, the weight of each sample and how many. Roastnet checks them in, approves the listing and handles every request from there.

  • 01Green or roasted sample lines on the same lot.
  • 02Check-in by Roastnet approves the listing.
  • 03Restock notices by email and in the app when samples run out.
  • 04Sample events through the Market API and webhooks.
