Three ways coffee reaches the market.
The green market brings together roasters, importers and growers at origin. Roastnet's role depends on who is selling, and every lot shows it clearly before you order.
- 01Roaster to roaster, where Roastnet runs the service: Roastnet buys from the seller and sells to the buyer, with both names kept private. Elsewhere roasters trade directly, with no fee.
- 02Direct from origin: Roastnet imports the coffee and sells it to you, with delivery.
- 03Importer lots: you order through Roastnet and the importer invoices you directly.
- 04Free samples on origin and roaster lots. Importers send their own samples.
How it works
A trade, step by step.
Buying green
- Browse approved lots on Buy Green, spot or pre-order.
- Want to cup it first? Request a sample. Samples on origin and roaster lots are free.
- Order your weight. Roastnet confirms it, or the importer does on importer lots.
- Pay by card or bank transfer. Delivery is booked once payment is received.
- The coffee arrives and you receive it into your inventory, even offline at the dock.
Selling green
- List a lot from your inventory at your price.
- Send samples to Roastnet. We check them in and approve the listing.
- A buyer orders and pays. Roastnet books collection from you and delivers straight to them.
- Roastnet pays you your price after delivery, once the claim window has closed.
Contract roasting runs both ways too: commission another roastery to roast to your spec, or sell your spare drum capacity to the network.
On origin and roaster lots Roastnet is the seller to you, so you are never left depending on a stranger. On importer lots you deal with a named importer.
Logistics
From their silo to your dock, arranged for you.
You trade, Roastnet moves the coffee. Collection from the seller, pallet freight to the buyer's door, and tracking on the order, all arranged by Roastnet.
