Importer Terms

Last updated: 9 October 2026

01Who these terms are for

These terms apply to importers, in any country, who list green coffee on the Roastnet market, in the app or through the Market API and MCP tools.

02Listings

Your business is named on your listings. You are responsible for the accuracy of every listing, including origin, process, grade, crop year, price, stock and location, and for keeping stock and prices up to date, including listings you push through the Market API.

03Samples

Roasters request samples of your lots through Roastnet, and you send them directly to the roaster on your own terms. Roastnet does not hold, handle or charge for samples of importer lots.

04Orders and your contract with the roaster

When a roaster orders one of your lots, Roastnet passes the order to you. You confirm or decline it. If you confirm, the contract for the coffee is between you and the roaster: you invoice the roaster for the coffee and collect payment yourself, on your own terms of sale.

Roastnet is not a party to that contract, takes no payment for the coffee, and has no liability for the coffee, its quality, quantity, delivery or payment. Any claim about the coffee is between you and the roaster.

05Delivery

You may arrange delivery yourself, free or charged on your own invoice. Where Roastnet's delivery service runs in your country (currently the United Kingdom), the roaster may instead choose to ship with Roastnet: Roastnet quotes, invoices the roaster separately for delivery plus VAT, and books collection from you once that payment is received. You must have the coffee ready, packed and labelled for collection at the booked time. The Delivery Terms apply to that service.

06Fees

Roastnet's fees for importers, if any, are shown in your account before they apply. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm importer fee wording]

07Your responsibilities

You are responsible for complying with the law that applies to your sales, including import, food safety, labelling, sanctions and tax rules, and for your own terms of sale.

08Liability

Roastnet provides the marketplace and, where chosen, the delivery service. Its liability to you is limited as set out in the Terms of Service and, for deliveries, the Delivery Terms.

09Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise. [PLACEHOLDER: solicitor to confirm governing law and jurisdiction]
