RoastnetRoastnet

For growers, producers, exporters and cooperatives

Sell your green coffee straight to specialty roasters.

Fewer hands between your farm and the roastery, so more of what roasters pay can reach you. List your lots free and send us samples: Roastnet handles samples, contracts, inspection at origin, shipping, import and delivery, and you decide when each lot ships.

  • Straight to roasters

Your lot goes to the specialty roasters who cup it and commit bags. Roastnet is the only party in between, so fewer hands take a share of the price.

  • Your lot fills bag by bag

Roasters commit bags and pay Roastnet when they commit. You see the lot fill and how many buyers have joined.

  • You decide when it ships

Close the lot at 100%, at 90% or at any point above the minimum you set. Unfilled bags can stay on sale for the next shipment.

  • We handle the rest

Samples, contracts, inspection at origin, shipping, import and delivery are organized by Roastnet, and buyers track every step.

How it works

From your farm or warehouse to a roastery.

  1. Join the green market free and choose producer or exporter as your seller type.
  2. List your lots: origin, process, variety, harvest, bags and bag size, and your price.
  3. Send samples to Roastnet. We check them in and approve your listing.
  4. Roasters request free samples, cup your coffee and commit bags to your lot.
  5. Watch the lot fill, then close it and ship when you are ready.
  6. Roastnet organizes the inspection at origin, buys the coffee and handles import, customs and delivery to each roaster.

Price, export and payment terms are agreed with you lot by lot before anything ships. Every sale is subject to the Roastnet seller terms.

The buyers

Specialty roasters, without an office abroad.

Specialty roasting is full of independent roasteries buying a few bags at a time. Reaching them one by one from origin is slow and costly. Roastnet brings that demand into one place and buys on its behalf, in every market it buys for.

  • 01One buyer for many roasteries: Roastnet.
  • 02Your lot is offered to roasters across every market Roastnet buys for.
  • 03Roasters cup before they commit, so commitments come from people who already like the coffee.
  • 04Listings, samples, fill and shipments in one console, in your language.

Lot fill

Watch your lot fill. Ship when it suits you.

Lots from origin sell by the bag. Every roaster that commits pays Roastnet in full, and only paid bags count toward the fill. You see the progress and the number of buyers, never their names.

  • 01Set an optional minimum to ship, shown to buyers.
  • 02Close the lot when you are ready. Keep the rest on sale for the next shipment, or take it off sale.
  • 03Each lot has a sell-by date. If it has not closed by then, every buyer is refunded in full and the lot comes off sale.
  • 04Fill updates reach you in the console, by email, by webhook and through the Market API.

Quality and tracking

Inspected at origin. Tracked to the roastery.

Before the coffee ships, Roastnet organizes an independent inspection at origin against the approved sample. A lot that does not pass does not ship, and its buyers are refunded. After that every step is on the order: shipped, arrived, customs cleared, out for delivery, delivered.

  • 01Inspection organized by Roastnet, before shipment.
  • 02The inspection certificate is shared with the buyers.
  • 03You and every buyer are notified at each step.

Questions

What people ask us.

Who buys my coffee?
Roastnet does. Roastnet buys from you, imports the coffee as importer of record and sells it to specialty roasters, with its margin inside the landed price they pay. You agree the sale with Roastnet, not with each roaster.
Which countries do I sell into?
Every market Roastnet buys and imports for, listed at the top of this page. More are added as Roastnet opens them, and your lots are offered in each one.
How does a lot fill?
Roasters commit bags to your lot and pay Roastnet when they commit. Only paid bags count. Everyone sees the percentage committed and the number of buyers.
When does my lot ship?
When you decide. You close the lot at any fill above your optional minimum, at 100% or earlier. If it has not closed by its sell-by date, the buyers are refunded and the lot comes off sale.
When am I paid?
On the payment terms agreed with you for each lot, before anything ships. Every sale is subject to the Roastnet seller terms.
How do samples work?
You send samples of each lot to Roastnet. We check them in, approve the listing and send free samples to the roasters who ask for them. When our samples of your lot run low, we let you know.
Will roasters see my name?
No. Roasters see the coffee: country, process, variety, harvest and cup notes. Your business name and contact details stay private.
Who handles inspection, export, import and delivery?
Roastnet organizes an independent inspection at origin before shipment. You prepare the coffee for export as agreed. Roastnet handles import, customs clearance and delivery to each roaster.
What does it cost?
Joining and listing your lots is free. Your cost is the samples you send us. Choose producer or exporter as your seller type when you join.
Do I need to work in English?
No. The green market console works in 18 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese and French.
